At I/O 2019, Google unveiled the fantastic new 3D Animals alongside a flurry of other augmented reality filters for Lens and Search.

Cheetah3D is a powerful and easy to learn 3D modeling, rendering and animation software which was developed from the ground up for Mac. So jump right into the world of computer generated imaging, create 3D artwork for your next iPhone game or make your first animated character.

The new features rely heavily on your smartphone to place 3D rendered creatures (and more) within your camera viewfinder in real-life scale. From the outset, it's worth noting that this isn't a brand-new feature by any stretch, but it's one that really helps you grasp the scale of animals in the natural world, all without having to head to your local zoo or nature reserve.

With millions of children around the globe not currently able to go to school due to quarantine and lockdown procedures due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, this might be a great way to give them an interesting home-schooling lesson without having to leave the house — or invite any furry friends in to make a real mess! The full list of 3D Animals within Google Search has grown substantially since launch, with more being added steadily since the announcement at last years I/O. Searching for any of the following animals will give you the option to bring them into your home in high-resolution 3D:

  1. You'll see a card that invites you to meet the shark up close with a View in 3D button. This also works for lion, tiger, dog, cat, bear, leopard, wolf, snake, horse, deer, turtle, panda, cheetah.
  2. Just below that, Google invites you to 'Meet a life-sized tiger up close' and offers a View in 3D button. Click the button and you're well on your way to bringing a tiger to life.
  • Goat

That list would likely be more than enough to fill a small zoo, and all of the animals even include realistic grunts, groans, and growls to really increase that immersion — and entertainment level. If you're wanting to keep yourself or your kids occupied, it's as easy as opening Google Chrome on your smartphone and searching for any of the AR animals above. You don't even have to view them in AR, you can see each animal in 3D within your Google Search page too.

Google 3D animals: How to watch AR tiger, duck, dog and other animals in your room

Google 3D Animals: Google introduced augmented reality (AR) objects to Search last year at I/O 2019. It's more than a year since then and the tech giant has now added a bunch of more 3D animals that you can watch using AR. To watch animals such as Tiger, Duck, and more in 3D you just need to do a simple Google search. Just write the name of the animal you want to watch in AR and you're good to go.

Well, Google doesn't show all animals in 3D AR as yet. The AR animals that you can view on Google Search right now are Tiger, Alligator, Angler fish, Brown bear, Cat, Cheetah, Dog, Duck, Eagle, Emperor penguin, Giant panda, Goat, Hedgehog, Horse, Lion, Macaw, Octopus, Shark, Shetland pony, Snake, Tiger, Turtle, and Wolf. Google could be working on more AR animal options to bring in the future. Besides animals Google also allows you to watch planets like Mars, Earth, Pluto, among others.

Google's 3D animals aren't available on all devices. It's only available on smartphones and not on the computer or laptop. In fact, it isn't supported by all phones either. Android smartphone or tablet running Android 7.0 or higher and iPhone or iPad running iOS 11.0 or higher are the only ones that will show 3D animals on Google.
